Danni Wyatt

The most exciting player in the country

Dani Wyatt is an England and Sussex right-handed opening batter and off break bowler. She is the most exciting player in this country at the moment. She is probably the most attacking player in the country and also a fine boundary fielder with a huge arm and the safest pair of hands in the game.

Danni was born in Stoke on 22 April 1991 and first represented Staffordshire in 2005. She made her ODI and T20 debuts for England in March 2010 against India, and a year later in the One Day series against Australia was promoted to open the innings. She remained as opener for the 2013 World Cup, hitting 40 against eventual finalists West Indies in the qualifying round. In April 2014 she was given one of the first ECB central contracts.

In the team of the year

Danni joined Sussex in 2016 from Nottinghamshire where she had played her cricket since joining from Staffordshire.

Danni was a member of the winning England team at the 2017 Women’s World Cricket Cup held in England and at the end of the year was named as one of the players in the ICC Women’s T20 Team of the Year.

In 2018 Danni produced one of her best career performances when in Mumbai whilst batting against India, she hit 124 off 64 balls. She hit 15 fours and 5 sixes as England chased down India’s  massive total of 198, and recorded the highest ever successful chase by any team in a Women’s T20 match. With this century Danni became the second female cricketer to hit two centuries in Women’s T20s.
